Coroner says Evansville infant’s death appears accidental


EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) The Vanderburgh County coroner has found that an Evansville infant’s death that occurred earlier this week appears to be accidental.

The coroner has not provided an official cause of death.

EPD said just after 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning officers were called to the 1700 block of South Bedford Avenue about an infant that was not breathing.

Officers performed CPR until an ambulance could get to the scene. Evansville Firefighters also helped perform live saving measures.

The infant died shortly after being taken to a hospital by ambulance.
