EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) As with most legal processes, officials want to remind people that applying for a gun permit is now a little different due to the coronavirus.

In order to obtain a handgun permit within the city of Evansville, after you fill out the appropriate forms online, you must go to Evansville Police Headquarters to pay a local fee.

When you arrive at police headquarters, you’ll be asked to practice social distancing and to wear a face mask.

You must bring your own black-ink pen.

You’re also asked to park in front of police headquarters, walk up to the door closest to Sycamore St., ring the doorbell, and step back down the stairs. Someone will then come to the door and collect your documents.

There is more information at the Evansville Police Department’s website.
