Crews battle another vacant house fire in Evansville

Evansville firefighters were called to a house fire early Tuesday morning on E. Louisiana Street.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Evansville firefighters were called to an overnight house fire Tuesday morning around midnight in the 300 block of E. Louisiana Street.

Authorities say the fire started in the back of a vacant house.

When our crew arrived, firefighters were tearing out the walls of the structure to help fight the flames.

A District Fire Chief told us two people were seen running from the house as the fire began.

They also tell us there is known homeless activity in the area.

Crews worked for about two hours to get the fire under control.

The investigation into how the fire began is continuing.
