Crews were on the scene Wednesday for a house fire in Warrick County.
Two firefighters were treated for heat exhaustion and they worked for several hours.
The first 911 call came around 1:40 p.m.
The Red Cross arrived on scene to help the firefighters stay cool.
The house was in the 5000 block of Landview Dr in the South Broadview subdivision.
Firefighters tell us the home belongs to a former volunteer firefighter.
Crews on scene say someone who lives there was home at the time and able to escape before the flames got out of control.
There’s no official word on whether that was the former firefighter or a family member.
As many as eight fire trucks were called to the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
We’re told two firefighters were taken to the hospital, but they are expected to be okay.
