Daviess Co. businesses receive masks

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) — More Daviess County businesses expecting to open next week will be equipped with surgical masks.

The Daviess County Fiscal Court is distributing about 20,000 masks to businesses with 50 or less employees.

Under Governor Andy Beshear’s reopening plan, movie theaters and fitness centers will reopen on June 1.

All small businesses that are currently open are also eligible to receive masks.

“I think everyone should participate in social distancing. Especially, it’s very difficult for our restaurants to be complying with these rules, but we have to consider the safety of people,” George Skiadas, owner of Lure Seafood and Grille, said.

Businesses needing masks must call to set up a pickup time at the Daviess County Operations Center.
