Daviess Co. library closed due to recent ransomware attack

Local News

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Daviess County Public Library workers begin three days of work to restore systems affected by last week’s ransomware attack.

The library is closed until Thursday as staff take inventory, updating patron accounts and repair damage from last week.

Library Director Erin Waller says they’ve restored backup systems and are determining what’s been checked out or returned since last Sunday when the ransomware attacked happened.

“We’ve got not only have to figure out what we don’t have in our system, but we also have to figure out who has what, what patron has what and whether or not that’s checked out for them or if they’ve actually returned that.”

Waller adds a checkout limit in place since last week may be lifted once they reopen this Friday.
