DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – A Daviess County road has reopened following a chemical spill and fire.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident in the 1700 block of West Harmon’s Ferry Road around 10:30 Friday morning.

The sheriff’s office says an aviation support vehicle hauling agricultural chemicals hit a utility pole and flipped over causing the chemical spill and fire.

The driver, David Mack, was able to get out of the vehicle before it caught fire and trees near the scene of the accident.

Mack was treated at the scene for possible chemical exposure.

The roadway was shut down for several hours for cleanup.
