DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – Most school activities and events were canceled because of the pandemic, but a group of Daviess County students is still preparing for an online challenge.
The group from College View Middle School will be in the state Future Problem Solvers Competition starting Friday.
The students had to meet through video conference after in-person classes were closed since last month.
Teacher Jacob Bryant said they had to do research individually but are sharing information through cloud services.
“It’s a challenge that we’ve seen come up before in future problem-solving scenarios as old as 15 years ago before these technologies existed. These students are solving problems that are 40 years into the future,” said Bryant.
More than 60 teams are expected to be in the online competition.
