Nurses and wellness coaches from Deaconess Hospital were set up offering free screenings and education as part of the hospital’s “Caring in the Community” program.
It offers people who may not get the chance to find out about their own health.
“Not everyone has a family doctor,” said Kari Mowery of Deaconess Hospital. “Not everyone goes and gets screened regularly. So, this is a way for them to know their cholesterol level is when they normally wouldn’t because they don’t go to a doctor.”
Deaconess offers screening and education programs at various locations throughout the year.
