EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – National Nurses Week comes to an end Tuesday. Deaconess made sure things closed on a high note.
Deaconess held a rally outside of their Midtown hospital to show support for the staff. Fellow nurses stood outside along the sidewalk holding up signs of support. As the nurses shook their pom poms, Evansville firefighters joined in by asking cars to honk to support nurses who were coming and going from the hospital.
The hospital has been holding events for their nurses during the week to let them know just how important they are to keeping everyone healthy.
The firefighters didn’t just ask others to make noise, at times they blared their own horns and sirens alongside the Evansville Police Department, who also came out to show support.
As a part of Nurses Appreciation Week, EPD and EFD showed another sign of support. They created a literal sign of support using their vehicles.
