Death under investigation in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office and Evansville Police are investigating a death in a home on East Illinois Street between N. Norman Ave. and N. Frederick Street on Tuesday night around 6:20 PM.

EPD says when caretakers arrived at the home, they saw the body of Charles Osborne Quinn, 89, in a suspicious position and called police. Officers say there was some injury to the body.

The coroner’s office says the death is being investigated as a homicide.

“Due to Mr. Quinn’s age, the initial thought was probably some sort of a health emergency. Once we made entry into the home, we found the body in an unusual position. There was some suspicious circumstances that led us to believe that his injuries then ultimately led to his death did not appear to be natural,” Capt. Andy Chandler with the Evansville Police Department said.
