Designing a new flag for Evansville

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) Evansville’s motto is ‘E is for Everyone,’ but is there an image or design that defines Evansville?

On Tuesday, city leaders kicked off the Evansville flag project.

They are opening submissions to city residents to collectively design a new flag.

Former Mayor Henry O’Roberts adopted the city’s first and current flag in February 1954. The City of Evansville flag was the first to be adopted in Indiana.

The submission deadline is April 24. A committee of local people will look them over.

The Evansville Design Center will provide input, then the committee will choose the finalists, then the community will vote on the winner.
