Spencer Co. Sheriff: One dead in crash on Highway 66 near Grandview

SPENCER CO., Ind. (WEHT) — Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that happened on Highway 66, east of Grandview on Monday.

According to the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, a minivan was traveling westbound around 6 a.m. when the driver suddenly lost control and ended up in the opposite lane and turning sideways. A semi truck struck the minivan and ripped the vehicle into two pieces. The minivan driver was pronounced dead.

The road was shut down temporarily for clean up. Officials have not yet released the name of the victim.
