Dogs rescued from burning Evansville home


EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – Two dogs are OK after an overnight fire in Evansville. It happened just before midnight in the 100 block of E. Louisiana St.

Firefighters arrived on scene around midnight to find flames coming out of the windows and the backdoor of the home. Fire investigators say the fire started on the first floor and worked its way up.

Crews had some trouble putting out the flames, but were able to extinguish it within an hour.

Nobody was home at the time, but there were two dogs inside. One dog ran out of the house when firefighters entered the home. Crews were able to rescue the other dog.

The people who live at the home say they were having electrical issues before they left. EFD has determined the fire to be accidental.
