Don Mattingly helps fund Youth First social worker at Evans Middle School

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Baseball great and Evansville native Don Mattingly was in attendance at Monday night’s Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation meeting, and brought along a sizable check.

Mattingly has been a long-time supporter of Youth First, and during the meeting, he presented the $60,000 check to the organization.

The money will specifically help fund a social worker at Evans Middle School over the next three years.

Youth First’s website says nearly 25,000 students have benefited from the presence of a social worker in their schools.
