WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) — The Dotiki Mine complex in Webster County is set to cease operations on Friday.
It’s one of a couple of mines halting production before the end of the year.
The Dotiki Mine is operated by Webster County Coal, a subsidiary of Alliance Resource Partners, based in Oklahoma.
The company confirmed last week that Friday would be the last day of operations.
Weak market conditions was the reason cited for the closure.
The Dotiki Mine employs about 200 people and produces about 2.5 million tons of coal each year.
