NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) Some churches are offering unique services on Easter Sunday.

Rhythm Church is hosting a drive-in service in the parking lot of the Newburgh Showplace Cinemas. In compliance with Governor Holcomb’s guidelines for church gatherings on Easter, the service will require vehicles to be parked every other spot, people will be asked to bring their own communion, and nobody is allowed to exit the vehicle.

Rhythm Church pastor Caleb Clark is grateful to be able to host an event where people can come together to worship, while also prioritizing the safety of the congregation.

“Knowing the safety guidelines is huge and for us we’re going to have a parking team designated across the parking lot of Showplace Cinemas,” Clark said. “We’ll have law enforcement there so safety is still in the interest of the people.”

A similar drive-in service is being hosted by Bethel Church and others in the Eastland Mall parking lot.

The service at Showplace Cinemas will begin at 10 Sunday morning and the service at Eastland Mall will begin at 11 a.m.
