Drive-In Easter service planned at Eastland Mall

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT)- While Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb is ordering no mass gatherings during Easter weekend, a drive-in Easter service will be held Sunday in the Eastland Mall parking lot in Evansville.

People will be asked to park nine feet away from other vehicles and must remain in the car at all times. Organizers say those who attend will be asked to provide their own materials for communion. The service is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM. Another drive-in service will be held in Newburgh at the Showplace Cinema parking lot at 10:00 AM.

In Kentucky, meanwhile, Gov. Andy Beshear announced the Kentucky State Police and local health officials will be instructing people who attend mass gatherings to self-quarantine. Hopkins County Public Health Director, Denise Beach says drive-in church services are “just not a great idea.”
