Earlington man arrested after attempting to disarm KSP Trooper

EARLINGTON, Ky. (WEHT) — An Earlington, Kentucky man faces a number of charges, including attempting to disarm a Kentucky State Police Trooper.

According to KSP, troopers attempted to pull over a truck after the driver ran a stoplight in Earlington on Sunday morning.

Instead of stopping, troopers say that driver, 26-year-old Joshua Thacker sped away.

A short time later, Thacker reportedly lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road.

And, while the trooper was trying to get Thacker into custody, he says Thacker become combative and tried to disarm him.

Investigators say Thacker then attempted to run away, but was quickly caught.

He is now in the Hopkins County Jail.
