Many students across the tri-state are graduating this week. Some of the youngest, and cutest, took the next step at the Easterseals Rehabilitation Center Wednesday.

The preschool program at Easterseals helps kids with special needs focus on areas of need before they move on.

The theme of the ceremony Wednesday: butterflies and caterpillars. Seven kids got their diplomas as they get ready to fly into kindergarten.

They celebrated by singing songs and showing off what they’ve learned to their families. Each student presented a flower to their moms for helping them along.

“Real proud of our kids. You know, they’ve come a long way, you know, to see and think about where they were not only at the start of the school year, but three years ago, it’s miraculous,” said teacher Stan Wilm

This was the last preschool graduation at the Easterseals facility. Next year the program will move to milestones daycare.
