HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Ellis park officials don’t expect flood water to drown opening day.

Water is receding around the racetrack. Sunday is the season’s first meet.

Ellis is planning to park cars where it normally doesn’t.

Areas south of the grandstand will be open.

Workers will add gravel to some spots.

They plan to shuttle people back to the front gate.

If you want a spot in the parking lot, consider getting there early on Sunday.
