EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An event was held at the University of Evansville Monday to honor a former nursing student.
The “Nancy McFadin Mueller Chair in Nursing Fund” was announced at the event.
Dr. Edward Mueller endowed the chair of the Dunigan Family School of Nursing in his wife’s name.
Nancy, who is diagnosed with ALS, graduated from UE in 1970.
She served as a nurse in the US Army for four years and published articles on urologic care.
“Everything she did, she succeeded in, and she succeeded extremely well. And so, to recognize her here at the University of Evansville, to me, is just kind of the epitome of success and the pinnacle of her career in nursing,” said Dr. Mueller.
Dr. Mueller is funding $1 million to help pay for the salary of the Chair of the Nursing School.
