EPA Provides Update on Wabash River Oil Spill

Local News

EPA officials say an oil spill on the Wabash River is unlikely to impact us here in the Tri-State.

Officials say the plume is now in the Mississippi River and it was undetectable as it reached Paducah.

They say high river levels and warm weather helped it dissipate.

Crews are now doing shore line assessments along a 90-mile stretch of the Wabash River.

EPA officials say dive teams and Marathon officials found the source of the leak in a pipeline.

The pipeline was pumped empty earlier Wednesday.
