EPD: Driver arrested after drugs found in vehicle

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Evansville police make an arrest after they say they found drugs in a vehicle as they were investigating shots fired in an Evansville neighborhood.

EPD reports that while in the area, officers heard shots being fired in the area of Shadewood Avenue and Riverside just after 10:30 Sunday night.

Officers say they saw a car speeding away from the area.

After pulling the vehicle over, they tell us a passenger ran off.

The driver was arrested after police say they found marijuana in the car.

The passenger has not yet been found.

Officers tell us their investigation turned up no evidence of anyone having been shot as a result of the initial Shots Fired investigation.
