EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – According to a police affidavit, a Newburgh man faces charges of child molesting.

Kenneth Hurtz, who was 23 at the time of the alleged incidents, is accused of sexual activity with a 13-year-old.

The victim’s mother said she walked in on them, according to the police affidavit.

Back in May, police said Facebook sent the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children a report that included messages indicating Hurtz and the victim continued sexual activity following an interview at Holly’s House. Police said the messages indicated that Hurtz was aware of the victim’s age.

According to the police affidavit, during a Holly’s House interview, the victim said she had sex with Hurtz and that her mother caught them.

Hurtz initially denied knowing the victim but later acknowledged that they had engaged in sexual activity, police said.
