EPD: Man accused of placing shotgun in woman’s mouth and telling her not to call police

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – According to a police affidavit, a man involved in a domestic violence incident intimidated a victim by allegedly putting a shotgun to her mouth while she was trying to call the police.

Colin Weatherford faces charges of intimidation, domestic battery, interfering with the reporting of a crime, and false reporting.

Weatherford is accused of grabbing a woman by the hair, throwing her up against a wall, and punching her in the side of the head with a closed fist.

Weatherford is also accused of pointing a gun at the victim while she recorded him. Police said he allegedly put the gun down when he realized he was being recorded.

The victim also told police that he took a shotgun and put it in her mouth, allegedly saying he would kill her if she tried calling authorities.

Police said when they arrived, Weatherford had a handgun holstered on his hip and he was very aggressive towards officers.

According to a police affidavit, Weatherford has been involved in multiple domestic violence incidents in the past year.

Police said they found the handgun and shotgun allegedly used by Weatherford.
