EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Three people were arrested on drug and weapons charges following a traffic stop early in the morning on Thursday.
Police said the vehicle was stopped because it failed to use a turn signal.
When running the license plate, police said the registered owner was operating without a license.
The driver, Jamar Grigsby, allegedly told police the he did not have a driver’s license.
Police said two passengers in the vehicle, Cameron Underhill and Mark Gibson Jr., were removed from the vehicle and seated on the sidewalk along with Grigsby while the vehicle was going to be towed.
Police said they found synthetic cannabinoids, methamphetamine, and a black 9mm Smith and Wesson Shield 9 semi-automatic handgun with nine rounds in it.
No one in the vehicle had a license to carry the handgun, police said.
All three were charged with meth possession, possessing a handgun without a license, and possession of synthetic cannabinoids.
Grigsby was additionally charged with driving without a license.
