EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) Despite not holding in-person services for the past five weeks, Nazarene Baptist Church in Evansville has been staying in touch during the pandemic.

They’ve streamed their services online and made an effort to make calls to members of their congregation. Nazarene’s senior pastor Larry Rasco has been working tirelessly to provide gospel for members of his congregation.

To show their appreciation, James Hamler and others came up with the idea to hold a parade to thank him for all of his hard work.

“Our pastor does so much to take care of us,” Hamler said. “He’s been making meals, and visiting, and making phone calls so we just wanted to show him how much we appreciate we appreciate him and his family.”

“I do a lot of talking… Speechless. Seeing their signs, “pastor we appreciate you, we love you, we’re praying for you,” all of that. Lord knows i need that like everybody else,” Rasco said. “People don’t have to be nice, and when they are nice to you, wow, what a blessing.”

Nazarene Baptist Church is also streaming their services on Facebook.
