EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Bulk shoppers rejoice! Costco in Evansville officially opened on Friday.
Eyewitness News’ Joe Bird was at the ribbon cutting on Friday, as the customers filed in.
Many gathered outside, waiting to get in to scope out the inventory before the store opened.
Some headed for the bourbon aisle.
Shawn Heimbuecher is a bourbon hunter, so he came to the opening to see if he could find any rare selections.
Sherm and Judy Dwyer picked on each other to pass the time.
“I cannot believe it. She’s the one that doesn’t like to stand in line and what she did is tell me, ‘We gotta go, we gotta go.’ So here I am… Half shaved, half woke up,” said Sherm.
Judy said she was coming for coffee and Sherm for cranberry juice – buying in bulk to save time.
“We are getting new kitchen cabinets next week. That’ll give her a little more space, but she’ll fill it up,” said Sherm.
