Evansville Diocese announces plans to reopen

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT)- Bishop Joseph Siegel of the Evansville Diocese announced Thursday that in-person services will start again May 18, with weekend services returning May 23 and May 24.

Wedding and funeral masses will also begin starting on the 18th, along with scheduled confessions. Bishop Siegel says social distancing guidelines must still be met, though that could significantly reduce the church’s seating capacity.

Bishop Siegel added that people over the age of 65 should still stay home and participate with online masses.
