EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Chelsea Marksberry will make her first appearance in a Vanderburgh County courtroom Wednesday afternoon.

She is facing Neglect charges in the death of her 3-month old son, Kieran.

Police say Marksberry called 911 last week to report the baby was not breathing.

In that 911 call, police say she told them the baby had fallen off a bed the night before, and that the father, Jacob Bengert, had already attempted CPR.

Police say when they got to the home, it was obvious Kieran was already dead.

Marksberry is currently being held on a $20,000 cash bond.

She’s set to be in court at 1 this afternoon.

Bengert was arrested after a nearly-24-hour manhunt.

He is charged with murder in Kieran’s death, and being held without bond after pleading Not Guilty.

Bengert is due back in court late next month.
