Evansville firefighter suffers minor injuries during Edgar Street fire

Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — A house fire began just before 3:00 Thursday morning at a home in the 1100 block of Edgar Street in Evansville.

Our crew on the scene says there was thick black smoke coming out of every window of the home when they arrived.

At one point, firefighters had a ladder truck raised to the second floor.

Once they started to pour water into the second story, our crew says that’s when quite a few flames became visible.

Neighbors told us they believe this is a vacant home.

A search of the home revealed no body inside.

One firefighter did suffer a minor injury.

We’re told they were treated at the scene and not taken to the hospital.
