EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — As fears of the coronavirus continue, an Evansville funeral home is helping ease concerns for family members who are planning to say goodbye to a loved one.
Sunset Funeral Home is using a webcam to stream services online. There are multiple computers available, so those at the service in person can talk with those watching online.
One employee says the streaming service provides families with one less thing to worry about during an already difficult time.
“We’ve seen an amazing response because there’s so many people that want to attend and can’t for various reasons so people love it,” Amy Walton, general manager, said. “We can even record it and send them an email link that they can have this as a treasured memory for years to come.”
Walton says they came up with the idea 6 months ago, but the webcams have been utilized more recently since the coronavirus began to spread.
