The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Human Relations Commission’s Annual Dinner and the Mayor’s Celebration of Diversity Awards is being postponed until 2017.
The Human Relations Commission says it will announce the date and keynote speaker for the 2017 event in the coming months.
The dinner is held annually to bring awareness to issues of discrimination, as well as promoting equal opportunity and inclusion.
Past keynote speakers include former MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry and Tim Wise, an anti-racism activist and educator.
The commission did not give an exact reason for the event’s postponement.
