EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An Evansville man accused of sexually abusing a child has been arrested.

35-year-old Christopher Hite is facing three counts of child molesting and deadly force with a weapon.

According to an affidavit, the victim spoke to someone with Holly’s House and told them the abuse began when they were 8 or 9.

The victim’s mom found a journal that detailed the sexual abuse, police say. That’s when the mother took the victim to a therapist.

The victim also said Hite made them masturbate him and these incidents would happen when the victim’s mom was at work.

Evansville Police say he asked for counsel, but wanted to know if he would be placed with the general population or with other people charged with crimes like this.

Hite’s bond has been set at $50,000, and he can’t have any contact with the victim. He’s set to be in court on Tuesday, June 18th at 1 p.m.
