Evansville Man Accused of Spending Stolen Cash at Strip Club

An Evansville man is accused of stealing his landlord’s debit card and withdrawing $500. Officers say the suspect told them he spent it all at a strip club.

EPD tells Eyewitness News a local bank notified the victim that his debit card had an unusual withdraw  of $500 from his account made on Saturday. That’s when the victim reportedly realized his card had been stolen and he called police.

The victim allegedly told officers the suspect, Mark Schlumpf, 30, who is the victim’s tenant, admitted to stealing the debit card.

When investigators asked Schlumpf about the incident, they say he told them he stole the card and withdrew that amount. That’s when officers put Schlumpf under arrest.

EPD tells us Schlumpf later admitted to officers he spent the entire amount at The Pony strip club.

Schlumpf was taken to the Vanderburgh Co. jail and now faces fraud and theft charges.
