An Evansville man has been arrested in connection to a child sexual abuse case.

37-year-old Patrick Adams is charged with two counts of child molesting.

A five-year-old child told their teacher that they were sexually abused by Adams.

According to the affidavit, the child told their teacher Adams was the “devil” and is from “hell”.

The teacher said the victim asked them to come to their home and help them kill Adams.

The teacher says the child became visibly upset and their lips began quivering.

Detectives say the child was very upset, yelling and throwing objects across the room when they were talking to them. They say the child even asked for a knife to do self-harm.

The victim goes on to tell investigators about various sexual acts in graphic detail.

Detectives took the victim into protective custody. Adams was later located and taken into custody.

According to the affidavit, Adams denied the allegations, saying the victim had lied.

When detectives asked Adams for a DNA sample to help with the investigation, they say he refused and became extremely upset and belligerent.

Adams is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 1 p.m.
