EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Twenty-one-year-old Veldon Huck, from Evansville, has been charged in a case of alleged child abuse.

Huck is being charged with battery and child neglect.

According to The Evansville Courier & Press, the charges came after Huck’s one-month-old child was found with several fractured bones and a torn frenulum — the tissue that attaches the tongue to the lower mouth.

Doctors reportedly discovered the injuries when the baby’s parents took the child to the hospital for a possible fever.

According to the report, Huck admitted to forcing a pacifier into the baby’s mouth, and holding down the child’s arms and legs at one point in the past.

Huck is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail without bond.
