Evansville man faces attempted rape charge

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An Evansville man is behind bars after police said he tried to rape someone and then asked an officer for sex.

Police arrested 22-year-old Parris Boyd Friday after a victim said he tried to rape her while she was in a hallway of an Evansville apartment complex.

According to a report, the victim said he grabbed her and covered her mouth to keep her from calling for help.

Police said she was able to get away after a witness came into the hallway.

Officers said they found Boyd at the apartment complex and he resisted arrest.

According to a report, the victim said she has never seen Boyd before and does not know him.

While at police headquarters, police said Boyd asked an officer for sex and tried to kiss her.

Boyd was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail. He’s charged with attempted rape and resisting law enforcement.
