Evansville man faces multiple charges after overnight chase

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Indiana State Police have arrested a man following a brief overnight pursuit in Evansville.

Troopers say Thursday evening around 11:15, they attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by 30-year-old David Johnson at Hwy. 41 and Riverside Drive for a traffic violation.

After a short chase, troopers say Johnson pulled into an apartment complex on Sunburst Blvd., and attempted to flee.

He was captured a short time later.

Johnson is facing several charges, including Battery on a Public Safety Official, Resisting Law Enforcement and Operating a Motor Vehicle while Intoxicated.

He’s currently being held in Vanderburgh County Jail.
