An Evansville man has been found guilty of multiple charges surrounding a violent burglary in the fall of 2015.

23-year-old Marquell M. Jackson was convicted of all nine counts against him.

The convictions include burglary resulting in bodily injury, aggravated battery, attempted robbery, and attempted armed robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.

Jackson’s conviction follows a four-day trial.

Jury deliberation lasted about 40 minutes.

Jackson and his co-defendants are accused of trying to steal drugs and money from apartments behind the 711 Tavern on Virginia St. back in October 2015.

A shooting broke out between the group of men trying to steal items and the victims.

It resulted in serious injuries.

Jackson was also found guilty of a gang enhancement. This will double his sentence.

His sentencing is scheduled for 10 a.m. on August 12.
