Evansville man organizes donation drive to help homeless

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – An Evansville man is doing his part to make sure those who need a little help get it this holiday season.

John Parker had an idea to donate supplies to a local charity that helps the homeless.

He took to Twitter and Instagram and asked for money donations so he could go and buy the things they need.

People donated more than $500.

He bought blankets, hygiene products, and winter clothes with the money.

He said it was his idea, but he can’t take all the credit.

“The people that donated are really the ones that made the impact. Without their help and crowdfunding, we wouldn’t have been able to touch near as much as we did,” Parker said.

He plans to take the donation to Aurora next week.
