The Evansville Museum of Arts, History, and Science has released a statement addressing the departure of Bryan Knicely.

The museum is confirming what Eyewitness News first reported on Monday.

According to the museum’s board of trustees, Executive Director Bryan Knicely completed his three-year contract and then decided to leave the museum to pursue other interests.

The board also announced the appointment of Mary McNamee Bower to serve as Interim Director. Bower formerly served as the museum’s chief curator.

Knicely started at the museum in 2014, when the Loch Immersive Theater & Planetarium opened alongside a $14 Million building expansion.

He came from the Coral Springs Museum of Art in Florida.

We reached Knicely by phone Monday, he would only tell us “no comment.”
