Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Evansville Police are investigating a shooting on East Iowa Street from Sunday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched to the 600th block of East Iowa Street around 1:45 p.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, a 37-year-old Briauna Robinson told officers she was shot in the hand.

Robinson also said the people who she believed shot her drove off in a white or cream colored GMC Envoy with a Mississippi license plate possibly heading back to Mississippi.

Robinson was taken to a nearby hospital.

Officers said not only did Robinson receive a gunshot to the hand, but she also suffered internal non-life-threatening injuries.

Suspect information was gathered at the scene along with a description of the possible vehicle used in the shooting.

Police believe the shooting happened as a result of an argument Robinson had with house guests.

A police report lists the charge as attempted murder.
