Evansville Police: Man in wheelchair hit by car

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Evansville Police are investigating an overnight hit-and-run on the city’s west side.

Officers say around 11:45 Sunday night, a woman was pushing her wheelchair-bound husband across the Lloyd Expressway at Rosenberger, when a vehicle hit the wheelchair.

Police say the man was conscious when medics arrived.

He was taken to Deaconess Hospital.

E-P-D says the suspect vehicle drove off.

Authorities say they are looking for a Silver Pontiac with front-end damage.
