Evansville Police searching for suspect in Armed Robbery

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) Shortly after 7:00 on Tuesday evening, Evansville Police responded to a hold-up at Sam’s Food Market & Smoke Shop, in the 900 block of W. Columbia.

Officers say the suspect entered the store, purchased a soft drink with a debit card, and left.

Less than 30 seconds later, police say he reentered the store with a blue bandana covering his face and holding a black handgun.

EPD says the suspect made the employee put the entire money drawer in a plastic bag before he exited the store.

Police say the suspect is a male in his 20s or 30s, and was dressed in a black hoody and jeans.

Officers say they established a perimeter with a K9, but were unable to locate the suspect.
