Evansville’s Sears will close for good over the weekend.
Realtor Joe Kiefer said the anchor store at Washington Square will shut down on Sunday.
In January, employees at 64 K-Mart and 39 Sears locations found out their stores would be closing.
Corporate said eligible workers will get severance and be able to apply for open jobs at other stores.
Sears has been part of Evansville for decades. The first one opened here in 1925.
Kiefer said he’s working to get a new store moved into the Sears location.
