Evansville water temporarily changes disinfectant

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will temporarily change the chemical used in its treatment process starting Monday.

Free chlorine will replace chloramine.

It will change back in late September.

The water department does this twice a year.

You may notice a slight change in taste, or your tap water may smell like a swimming pool.

The utility said the chemical poses no health risk.
