EVSC schools closing, other organizations, locations also close

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – EVSC announced in a press conference Thursday that all schools will close after class Friday through March 27 amid coronavirus concerns.

In-person classes will resume on Monday, March 30th.

All activities at EVSC are cancelled during this time, including extracurricular activities.

EVSC will also not be administering the SAT this weekend.

Evansville Catholic School and Evansville Lutheran School will be following the same guidance as the EVSC and will be closing through March 27.

Health officials are also recommending senior citizens stay at home.

Ford Center, Victory Theatre, and Old National Events Plaza will abide by the measures put in place by Governor Holcomb. Evansville Philharmonic is also abiding by the new measures.

CEO- Director Scott Kinney announced that the Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library will be closed effective Saturday, March 14 tentatively through Sunday, March 29. Click here to see the full letter.

Right now, there are not any confirmed cases of coronavirus in our Tri-State area.
