EVSC holds first public town hall meeting

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — A new EVSC School Board public meeting designed to allow people to voice any concerns they have about the school system took place at 5 p.m. The meetings were created specifically to give people the chance to speak directly with members of the school board. The announcement that the school corporation would be holding new meetings came after members of the public asked for more transparency for months.

Now that these meetings are in place, people will not be able to address the board during regular school board meetings regarding issues that are not on the agenda for that evening. The board plans to have one meeting each quarter and Eyewitness News is told most members of the board are expected to attend each meeting.
